So who am I as a person? It’s not always easy to look at ourselves objectively, but I’ve done my best to come up with a list of traits I feel best define me.
Adaptability: I’m not set in my ways. I don’t believe that I know everything there is to know about anything — and I’m glad! Not knowing means there’s always room for learning, improvement, and growth. I’m constantly updating my skills, learning new techniques, and researching different methods and trends. I love to learn and work hard to find a solution to any problem. I’m also not afraid to try new software or new ways of doing things. Having to keep up with the latest industry standards and technological trends means that work — and life — will never be boring!
Diligence: I’m a hard worker and I like to be busy. I’m also very detail-oriented and strive for the highest level of quality in everything I do. If I don’t know how to do something, I do everything I can to figure it out on my own — although I’m never afraid to ask others for help if I can’t! Once I’ve learned something, I do my best to apply that knowledge as often as possible in order to keep it fresh in my mind and make myself more efficient.
Positivity: I’m generally optimistic and always try to look on the bright side of things. While I sometimes get a bit frustrated — mainly when it comes to technology, but who doesn’t threaten to smash their phone or throw their computer out the window occasionally? — I always quickly get over my anger and never hold grudges. I also tend to be enthusiastic about my work and am rarely bored.
Talent: There are lots of competent communications professionals out there, but I believe my particular range of skills makes me unique! I have strong writing, editing, and graphic design skills as well as a solid foundation in communication theory and excellent programming, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. I have the skills and knowledge needed to take a wide variety of communications projects from conception to completion on my own, although I know that truly great results come from the combined efforts of a team. I’m always looking for ways to improve upon my skills and work to the best of my abilities at all times.
